Purpose

The ISDP is an international organization founded in 1968 for the purpose of encouraging research on the development of behavior in all organisms including humans, with special attention to the effects of biological factors operating at any level of organization. Membership benefits include an online journal subscription to Developmental Psychobiology (for ALL members) and discounted registration at the annual meeting, which is normally preceding and co-located with the Annual Meeting of the Society of Neuroscience (SfN). The next meeting is November 9-11, 2022 at the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa, a tropical hideaway in San Diego’s Pacific Beach community, www.isdp.org/current.

The Annual Meetings used to attract 260 – 300 participants prior to offering virtual access. In 2020 we held the first Virtual Meeting, with an attendance of 333 participants from 24 countries. In 2021 as well as in 2022, the annual meeting is offered as a hybrid meeting. There were 506 participants at ISDP 2021 Hybrid meeting, with 212 in-person and the rest joining through the interactive virtual platform. We are again planning for an in-person meeting in November, 2022, but will also include a virtual option for those who are either not able to travel or just not quite ready to travel again.
