ISDP Bethany Reeb-Sutherland Mid-Career Award

Announcing the NEW Mid-Career Award: ISDP Bethany Reeb-Sutherland Mid-Career Award. This award is given to honor the memory of Bethany Reeb-Sutherland https://isdp.org/in-memoriam-bethany-reeb-sutherland/, a promising mid-career investigator in the field of Developmental Psychobiology who was Treasurer of the ISDP at the time of her passing in November of 2020. She was also the 2017 FABBS Early Career Impact Award winner.  

Nominations must be made by a Regular or Early-Career Member of the Society. The winners of  this award receive a $700 cash award, an engraved plaque and will be invited to give a special presentation of their work at the annual meeting. This award does not include registration fees or travel to the Annual Meeting. 

This award is intended for a mid-career researcher with a maximum of 15 years post-degree. It is, however, recognized that there may have been family-related, personal, or other circumstances resulting in extended time out of the laboratory. Exceptions to the 15-year limit will be considered based on a description of any special circumstances. 
 

Criteria:

  1. The nominee must be a current member of the society
  2. The nominee must have a record of academic accomplishments and independent, significant and sustained contributions to the field
  3. The nominee must have received their Ph.D. or M.D. at least 7, but no more than 15 years prior to the nomination, but may be extended by 1 year due to parental leave (per child)

Nomination materials:

  1.  letter documenting the nominee’s research and scholarly contributions.
  2. The nominee’s current CV highlighting the nominee’s three most significant publications.
