“Life-span Effects of Early Life Adversity on Stress, Emotional Regulation and Reward Neurocircuits”
Mar Sanchez, Ph.D., Professor, Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, Emory University School of Medicine
Core Scientist and Chief, Division of Developmental and Cognitive Neuroscience, Emory National Primate Research Center, Emory University
Biography
Dr. Sanchez studies the neurobiology of stress and emotional regulation. She is particularly interested in the effects of early experiences, such as maternal care and social stress, on the development of stress, emotion and reward neurocircuits to understand how early life adversity (ELA) leads to increased risk to psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, depression and drug addiction.
